š The fiber contains temperature sensors and enough memory (24CW1280X chips) to store a short movie for two months without power. It also contains 1,650 neural network elements, which means the fiber can train to infer activity itself without additional help.
š This sounds imaginative, but perhaps not yet practical. Right now, the fiber can survive being washed at least ten times and requires an external device and ā presumably ā external power. However, perhaps it is a glimpse of things to come.
š The creating of an ultra-tiny serial bus is interesting. It is also interesting to note that they use CNC milling to form the preform with the wire channels and other necessary features.
š We wonder if, one day, your clothes will have something like this in them for control andĀ muscle fabricĀ to allow them to reconfigure themselves. If sewing isnāt your bag, you might tryĀ 3D printing your electronic enclosuresĀ on your clothes.

AT MIT, CLOTHING FIBER WATCHES YOU
A team at MIT have announced theirĀ creation of a fiberĀ that can sense and store data.
In addition, they can use data from a shirt made of the material to infer the wearerās activity with high accuracy.
The fiber contains hundreds of microscale silicon chips into a preform used to create a polymer fiber that connects the chips using four 25 micron tungsten wires.

What are the voice recorder chips available in the market?
š APR2060
It is a powerful 16-bit digital audio processor capable of recording 40-80 seconds of audio. Itās based on non-volatile flash memory technology, requiring no battery backup. It has a built-in audio recording microphone amplifier and configurable analogue interface.
š APR9301
This chip can record voice without using any software or microcontroller. It provides high quality recording and playback of 20-30-second long voice messages. The chip is ideal for portable voice recorders, toys and other consumer applications.
š APR33A3
This powerful audio processor with built-in audio recording microphone amplifier does not require programming. It enables high-quality audio systems with lower bill-of-material costs.
š WTR050
It is a multifunctional voice recording and playback chip that can record up to 50 seconds of audio. It can record voice from a distance of up to 5 metres, and can directly drive an 8-ohm, 0.5W speaker.

Why do Logic-Level MOSFETs Require Gate Driver IC?
š A gate driver IC is normally used when the controller section is unable to provide sufficient current to drive the MOSFETās gate capacitance.
š Sometimes, even if you use a logic level MOSFET, you might still need a driver to rapidly charge and discharge the gate capacitance to minimise switching losses.
š The switching of a MOSFET generates heat in the device. The gate driver takes power from the main input supply and requires only a small current of the controller, thus making the whole system cooler.
š A gate driver allows you to turn on and off the MOSFET at a faster rate more efficiently.
š MAX767 and LTC1157 are examples of gate driver ICs with VccĀ up to 5V.

LaMDAās amazing skills ā An example
š During the conference, Googleās CEO Sundar Pichai displayedĀ a demoĀ of LaMDAās versions of Pluto and a paper plane in two different conversations.
They didnāt need to fine-tune LaMDA to change it from impersonating Pluto to a paper plane.
š Specificity.Ā The team asked LaMDA what theyād see if they visited Pluto. It answered: āYou would get to see a massive canyon, some frozen icebergs, geysers, and some craters.ā LaMDA could have said something like: āA nice view,ā or āSome land and the stars around me,ā but decided to be very specific on details of Plutoās geology.
š Factuality.Ā The team asked if Pluto had had any visitors, to which the system replied: āI have had some. The most notable was New Horizons, the spacecraft that visited me.ā In 2006 NASA launched theĀ New HorizonsĀ mission to explore Pluto and its moons. LaMDA got this fact right.
š Interestingness.Ā The team asked LaMDA what it wished people knew about Pluto, to which it responded: āI wish people knew I am not just a random ice ball. I am actually a beautiful planet.ā The interesting bit here is that LaMDA is appearing to convey emotion which gives the conversation a deeper layer.
š Sensibleness.Ā After LaMDA expressed its wish that people knew Pluto was a beautiful planet, the team said: āWell I think youāre beautiful,ā to which LaMDA continued: āIām glad to hear that. I donāt get the recognition I deserve. Sometimes people refer to me as just a dwarf planet.ā It came back on explaining why it wished people knew better, even after the team said what it āwantedā to hear. This makes total sense from a human point of view.

Googleās LaMDA: The Next Generation of Chatbots
LaMDA ā A conversational AI
LaMDA stands for āLanguage Model for Dialogue Applications.ā
Following from previous models such as BERT and GPT-3, LaMDA is also based on theĀ transformerĀ architecture, open-sourced by Google in 2017.
This architecture allows the model to predict text focusing only on how previous words relate to each other (attention mechanism).

Teams that apply the DevOps culture, methods and tools become highly efficient, create better products faster and increase customer satisfaction.
Optimising collaboration and increasing productivity is also a prerequisite for achieving such business goals as:
š Adapting to market conditions and a competitive environment
š Maintaining system stability and reliability
š Quick entry to the market
š Reducing the average recovery timeDevOps affects the application life cycle at all stages ā from planning and development to delivery and operation.
7 457
What does DevOps mean for employees?
š It allows people working in disparate departments ā development, IT operations, quality assurance and security ā to coordinate their actions and jointly create better and more reliable products.
š By implementing the DevOps culture, along with the appropriate techniques and tools, teams are able to better respond to customer needs, increase confidence in the applications they create, and achieve business goals faster.
7 457
What is DevOps and Why Should You Care?
š The term DevOps is an abbreviation for development (Dev) and operations (Ops).
š Under it, people, processes and technologies come together to constantly provide benefits to customers.
