The training aimed at preparing vocational track Business and Economics teachers, emphasizing student-centered learning, active learning, experiential learning, Positive Youth Development (PYD), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and inclusive teaching practices for the new curriculum. On July 2, 2024, Rhonda Shrader held a Young Professional Internships Program (YPIP) professional development session with this summer's cohort. ℹ️ Rhonda Shrader served as a long-time mentor for University of California San Francisco's Idea to IPO Course, is an active advisor for NASA spinoff BrainAid, and recently coached the winning teams for both the Health Tech Forum Codeathon and the San Francisco MedHack 2.0 Hackathon. She graduated from Harvard University with a BA in Neuropsychology and holds an MBA in Strategy and Operations. ⚡️During the session, Rhonda led an engaging and insightful workshop on Startups and Entrepreneurship - "What Is Lean Startup & How Can It Power Your Career or Startup?". Participants didn't just learn theoretical concepts but also practical insights that they can immediately apply. They learned about the factors to consider before launching a startup and the importance of customer research in building a business. On June 22nd, the participants of the C5+O.N.E. program had the unique opportunity to visit the Solar Institute, which houses one of only two solar furnaces in the world. This remarkable excursion provided an in-depth exploration of solar energy and the pioneering work conducted by the institute. Throughout the visit, participants delved into the complexities and potential of solar energy, gaining comprehensive insights into its applications and benefits. The Solar Institute's experts shared their extensive knowledge on the subject, discussing innovative research and real-world implementations of solar technology. In addition to the technical knowledge acquired, this excursion also served as an excellent opportunity for participants to enhance their language skills. Engaging with scientific presentations and discussions in a foreign language helped improve their comprehension and communication abilities in a specialized context. Overall, the visit to the Sun Institute was both enlightening and educational, providing valuable experiences that will benefit participants in their future endeavors.

On June 26, 2024, Young Professional Internships Program (YPIP) participants attended a US higher education and masters' degree session led by Jamila Nasridinova. ℹ️ Jamila Nasridinova is an Education Outreach Coordinator and EducationUSA Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent. EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 425 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries that provide advising, support, and education around how to apply to over 4,000 US universities and colleges. ⚡️Jamila led an insightful session on educational programs funded by the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent. The session provided the YPIP participants with valuable information on the opportunities that highly enhance both their educational and professional pedigree. Participants learned about the advantages of studying in the U.S. and the steps they should follow to apply to U.S. universities. 🇺🇸The Young Professional Internships Program (YPIP) is funded by the US Embassy Tashkent and implemented by American Councils for International Education.

Supporting creation dynamic platforms for innovation and collaboration across Uzbekistan Uzbekistan to establish "Creative Industrial Parks" in each region within Barkamol Avlod centers. These parks are envisioned to provide the same advantageous conditions enjoyed by residents of IT parks, fostering innovation and collaboration among various stakeholders. Specifically designed to integrate closely with universities and major manufacturers, these parks will serve as dynamic platforms where young entrepreneurs, academic researchers, and business leaders can converge to exchange ideas, develop scientific innovations, and catalyze new business ventures. Recently, USAID Youth Employment Skills (YES) Activity engaged in discussions with Nasiba Shomansurova, who serves as a key liaison from the Barkamol Avlod Center.
