Over the years, The Thinking Muslim has brought together scholars, thinkers, professionals and community leaders to explore questions that are often overlooked or inadequately addressed in mainstream media. This conference brings that conversation into one room, gathering many of our guests for a day of serious reflection, learning and discussion about the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah and where we go from here. We're also looking forward to something we rarely get to do: meeting you in person. The Thinking Muslim has grown through the conversations we've shared with our audience over the years, and we're excited to bring that community together in London. We look forward to seeing you there, InshaAllah. This is one event you won't want to miss. Get your tickets now: www.thinkingmuslim.com/conference

Day 8 in Syria! 🇸🇾 Today we spent more time exploring Aleppo. We visited the old market and spoke with a shopkeeper about what it was like working as a trader during the bombardment under the Assad regime. While walking through the city, we also spotted a quote written on the back of a taxi: “Be whatever you may be. Today you walk this earth, tomorrow you lie buried.” Later, we stopped at a park that was full of life, with children playing and even a 24-hour shop. On one of the walls was another quote that stood out to us: “With love, we will rebuild it.” See slide 9. We also visited Abdel-Badie Zanabili, one of Aleppo’s historic family-run soap makers. The family has been making Aleppo soap for generations and continued the craft through the war. A day spent seeing more of Aleppo through its markets, people and the small details you notice along the way.
