St. Samson, one of the Judges of the OT period. It's interesting that he confronted with a highly developed local civilization, but only few written elements survived till our time. In the photo I put a fragment of the best preserved Philistine inscription.

🌟🌟 The Church is one, notwithstanding her division as it appears to a man who is still alive on earth. It is only in relation to man that it is possible to recognize a division of the Church into visible and invisible; her unity is, in reality, true and absolute. Those who are alive on earth, those who have finished their earthly course, those who, like the angels, were not created for a life on earth, those in future generations who have not yet begun their earthly course, are all united together in one Church, in one and the same grace of God; for the creation of God which has not yet been manifested is manifest to Him; and God hears the prayers and knows the faith of those whom He has not yet called out of non-existence into existence. Indeed the Church, the Body of Christ, is manifesting forth and fulfilling herself in time, without changing her essential unity or inward life of grace. Alexei Khomiakov

☦️⚡️ We believe a man to be not simply justified through faith alone, but through faith which works through love, that is to say, through faith and works. But [the idea] that faith can fulfill the function of a hand that lays hold on the righteousness which is in Christ, and can then apply it unto us for salvation, we know to be far from all Orthodoxy. For faith so understood would be possible in all, and so none could miss salvation, which is obviously false. But on the contrary, we rather believe that it is not the correlative of faith, but the faith which is in us, justifies through works, with Christ. Epistle of the Eastern Patriarchs

Why we choose the Orthodox Church? “The Orthodox Church contains the complete teaching of the God-man Christ precisely because it does not deviate from the theanthropic methodology of the holy Apostles and the Oecumenical Synods.” St. Justin (Popovich) of Chelije "Orthodox Faith and Life in Christ"

☦️ The historical place associated with St. Irinarch of Rostov (Rostov the Great). St. Irinarch was a pillar of Orthodoxy, a wonderworker and also had prophetic gift. It was a time of trouble, and a famous heterodox trooper, leader of the invaders, came to him. St Irinarch told him about his future. Weathering flesh, St. Irinarch wore heavy irons and fulfilled many other ascetic feats. The enlightened saint reposed in the Lord in 1616. St. Irinarch, pray for us!
