Btw, you can have up to 2^46 ≈ 70 trillion different children just from independent assortment. If we include other factors like mutations and crossing over, the number of possible combinations jumps to around 10^600. The probability of having identical genetic material is effectively zero. There’s more genetic diversity than the number of atoms in the observable universe! However, if all the genetic material came from just one parent, that number would drop significantly.
