🇬🇧 The 150 TAP: The Vespa that Knocked Down Tanks This anti-tank scooter was developed for the French airborne forces in the mid-1950s. The acronym "TAP" stands for Troupes Aéro Portées (Airborne Troops). It is equipped with a 75-millimeter M20 recoilless rifle, designed to transport, not necessarily to fire while in motion. It was conceived to be air-dropped by parachute from airplanes and used by paratroopers to quickly deploy anti-tank capability against enemy vehicles. The design was based on a reinforced civilian Vespa and was manufactured under license by ACMA in France. It was used during the Indochina War and the Algerian War, being an unconventional but economical military solution. It carried six extra rounds of ammunition on the right side. @TARTARIA HISPANICA @TARTARIA in my CITY 🏰

🇬🇧 The Pont Roulant (Rolling Bridge) of Saint-Malo, France, Around 1900 This was a unique transport system that connected Saint-Malo with Saint-Servan across the Rance River estuary. The system was inaugurated in 1873 and operated until 1923. It ran on submerged rails, moving on four legs along the seabed. It transported passengers and carriages between the two shores, regardless of the tide. It was replaced by a more modern swing bridge, which in turn was destroyed in 1944.
