Solution : - Gay-Lussac’s Law - Tyre contains air at nearly constant volume. The rubber tyre does not change volume much. Therefore, the air inside can be considered to have constant volume, satisfying the condition for Gay-Lussac’s Law. - Decrease in temperature causes pressure to decreases. When the tyre cools during the rain, the air temperature inside decreases. According to Gay-Lussac’s Law, a decrease in temperature leads to a decrease in air pressure inside the tyre. (DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL) Lower pressure cannot support the car’s weight. With reduced pressure, the air exerts less outward force on the tyre walls. The tyre deforms and spreads on the road, making it appear flat.

Solution : The end of KitKat A’s packaging is a straight line thus when force is applied, there is more surface area present which produces less pressure (Pressure is inversely proportional to surface area). Hence, it is harder to open and requires more force. The end of KitKat B’s packaging is a zigzag shape thus when force is applied between the peaks of the zigzags, there is less surface area which produces more pressure when opening it. Hence, it is easier to open because it requires less force.
