Republicans have blocked every proposal to rein in ICE, but they're happy to let Democrats spend your tax money to equip ICE mercenaries with body cameras. Why? Because they know body cams won't restrain ICE agents any more than they restrain cops:

Don't try to reform ICE. Don't give them more training. Don't give them more equipment.
Abolish them.
Minneapolis Responds to the Murder of Alex Pretti
An eyewitness account
https://crimethinc.com/AlexPretti
On Saturday, January 24, an ICE agent murdered Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. Five agents tackled and beat him, then an agent shot him multiple times. In response to the murder, the Whittier neighborhood immediately rose up and battled ICE, Minnesota police, and Minnesota State Troopers for over four hours, eventually forcing them to withdraw.
This murder occurred one day after a historic general strike in which more than 100,000 workers in the Twin Cities walked out against the ICE occupation. Many people in the streets expressed the opinion that the federal agents murdered Alex as an act of revenge for the strike.
We've added nine more versions of our poster, "The Whole World Hates the Police," at the request of people in Albany, Boise, Eugene, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Richmond, and Washington, DC.
https://crimethinc.com/posters/the-whole-world-hates-the-police
The ones who remained with ICE over the past year are there because they want to do this to you.
They want to be stormtroopers, like Gregory Bovino in his Gestapo jacket.
They signed up because they want to kidnap children.
They want to pepper-spray grandmothers.
They want to murder mothers like Renee Good.
Not just for the money, but for the thrill of kidnapping, torturing, and killing with impunity.
Every single one of them. The others already quit.
You can see this in how shamelessly they lie, how they justify their acts. The rank and file as well as the leadership.
If there is an element in society that must be purged for everyone to be safe, it is ICE.
It's them or us.
If we do not come together, if we do not organize to resist them, the future will be more horrific than anything we can imagine today.
But if we get organized, if we form networks, if we get used to acting together, we will be able to create a better world—a world in which no one must live in fear of ICE or other predators.

Discourse about "violence" and "nonviolence" is attractive because it offers an easy way to claim legitimacy. But as long as the authorities are the ones who define what counts as legitimate, this discourse functions to legitimize police violence while delegitimizing anyone who resists it.
For example, throwing tear gas canisters back to the police who shot them protects people from harm. Denouncing those who throw them back as “violent” gives police a free hand to do worse.
This week, we'll be adding our zine "The Illegitimacy of Violence, the Violence of Legitimacy" to mail orders.

Protesters Blockade ICE Headquarters in Fort Snelling, Minnesota
A report from an action during the January 23 general strike in the Twin Cities.
https://crimethinc.com/Whipple
On January 23, thousands of people went on strike in the Twin Cities to oppose the ongoing campaign of kidnapping and murder that federal mercenaries are perpetrating. Over 1000 businesses shut down.
At the same time, a smaller number of demonstrators set out to prevent ICE from carrying out the abductions they had planned for the day.
Early in the morning, in sub-zero conditions, roughly 75 demonstrators with shields and reinforced banners blocked the intersection of Minnehaha and Federal Drive, immediately adjacent to the Whipple building, which ICE has been using as their base of operations in the Twin Cities.
At the same time, someone left an RV trailer blocking Airport Service Road. This completely blocked two of the three means of ingress and egress to and from the Whipple building.

First of all, we know everything they say is a lie. They murdered Renee Good on video and lied about her. They are not credible.
Second, if anything like this ever did happen, it would be poetic justice after so much crying wolf.
Third, how do you wish people had treated the Nazis in 1934?

Being “Peaceful” and “Law-Abiding” Will Not Stop Authoritarianism
A Message from Germany
https://crimethinc.com/MessageGermany
In this analysis, anarchists from Germany explore how events from German history should inform those who are resisting the consolidation of authoritarian power in the United States today.
If the strike called for January 23 in protest against ICE is to succeed, ordinary people—most of whom are not unionized—will have to walk out and take it upon themselves to disrupt business as usual.
No union leadership or organization can do this for us.

Iran: Powstanie osaczone od wewnątrz i z zewnątrz
https://crimethinc.com/2026/01/07/iran-powstanie-osaczone-od-wewnatrz-i-z-zewnatrz
