All Dev channel users are automatically being upgraded to Canary channel. To stick to Dev channel, you'll need to perform a full re-installation.

Microsoft is introducing a new Canary channel in Windows Insider Program. This channel will receive undocumented updates with major platform changes more frequently than the Dev channel (so you can expect multiple builds a week without any blog announcements). "The new Canary Channel is going to be the place to preview platform changes that require longer-lead time before getting released to customers. Some examples of this include major changes to the Windows kernel, new APIs, etc." said Microsoft. Builds in Canary channel will be freshly baked from the oven, releasing to Insiders after little to no validation. Currently, there are TWO development tracks for Windows: Windows 11 and Windows vNext (code name: Next Valley) which currently targets a release window of 2024. So, here's the TL:DR for what all this means for Insiders: - If you want to test early platform code that's laying the groundwork for the next major version of the Windows platform coming in 2024, join the Canary Channel. - If you want to test in-development features being built for Windows 11, join the Dev Channel. - If you want to test upcoming Windows 11 features that are closer to being finalized, join the Beta Channel. - If you want to test the next Windows 11 feature update, join the Release Preview Channel. via inputs from Windows Central
