Volkswagen is in advanced talks with Israel’s Rafael to produce components for Iron Dome and other missile-defense systems at its Osnabrück plant in Germany.
The potential deal is moving forward despite opposition from Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, which owns 17% of Volkswagen.
Germany’s federal government and the state of Lower Saxony are reportedly working to help make the partnership possible.

Germany was forced to abandon 8,826 planned deportations in the first half of 2026 because authorities could no longer locate the people they were supposed to remove.
Those targeted included rejected asylum seekers, illegal migrants and foreign nationals convicted of crimes in Germany.
Only 9,663 people were deported in the first half of 2026, compared with 11,807 during the same period in 2025, a decline of around 18%. More than 230,000 people currently living in Germany have deportation orders.

BREAKING
Greek soldiers have used their Patriot air defense system to shoot down drones trying to attack the Yanbu Oil Refinery in Saudi Arabia today. 3 interceptors were fired at what was likely Houthi drones.
It’s good they were downed but it’s a travesty it’s almost September 2026 and NATO states are still firing PAC missiles at cheap drones.
Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022. The likelihood of a large war in the Middle East became obvious on October 7th 2023 and the U.S. started using Patriot air defense systems against Iranian ballistic missile attacks in April 2024.
Russia and Iran must be thrilled by the fact that the West hasn’t started mass-producing interceptor missiles nor enough good interceptor drones.
Just how severely do we have do deplete our stocks in the West before we start mass-production of all types of weapons?...

Residents of Spain’s Ceuta are calling for the Red Cross to leave the territory over its response to the recent mass influx of illegal migrants, accusing the organization of providing extensive assistance to illegals while neglecting struggling locals.
Residents cited the distribution of food, clothing, blankets and healthcare to newly arrived migrants while elderly people, families with children and local businesses face what they describe as growing insecurity and insufficient support.
Protesters have summed up their anger with the message: “They have no shame.”

Mohammad Eslami, head of Irans Atomic Energy Organization says that ‘Iran has moved beyond testing nuclear fusion technology and has started building parts and equipment for a fusion system.’
(Nuclear fusion is the process that powers the Sun. If mastered, it could eventually produce huge amounts of energy, but Iran is still very far from a working fusion power plant.)

🚨 ISRAEL STRIKES AGAINST HEZBOLLAH CONTINUE
Israeli forces carried out overnight and daytime airstrikes, artillery fire, controlled explosions and infrastructure demolitions across southern Lebanon, targeting areas from Srebbine and Nabatieh al-Fawqa to Khiam, Bint Jbeil and Bani Hayyan.
The activity included strikes near Dabsha and Ali al-Taher, demolitions in Houla and excavation work in Bani Hayyan.

🇸🇻🇸🇪 El Salvador, once the world's murder capital, is now officially considered safer for U.S. travelers than Sweden, according to current U.S. State Department advisories.
The U.S. government rates El Salvador a Level 1 "Exercise Normal Precautions" country, the safest possible designation.
In contrast, Sweden holds a Level 2 "Exercise Increased Caution" advisory due to concerns over terrorism.
The leader of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele has cracked down on organized crime, lowering homicide rates dramatically to approximately 1.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2025.

🚨 QATAR’S LNG EXPORTS COLLAPSE 96%
Qatar shipped just 18 LNG cargoes over the past six months, down from 509 during the same period last year, amid disruptions linked to the war with Iran.
The collapse is estimated to have cost Qatar $24 billion in lost revenue, while U.S. LNG exporters gain market share.
With Europe’s gas inventories already depleted ahead of winter, prolonged Qatari disruptions could send energy prices sharply higher.
