Here's something I find genuinely striking. You can have the right doctrines on paper, keep the right day, follow the right lifestyle, and still find that the sin problem never fully resolves. People assume that if they just try harder, pray more, learn more Bible, the cycle will eventually break. And for many sincere, genuine believers, it never does. Not fully. But that's not actually what the Bible describes as the solution. The solution described in scripture requires a very specific understanding of God. And if that understanding is off, even slightly, the solution you reach for will never quite get to the root. This study goes there. I've been teaching through 1 John 3:4 for a while now and I still find things in it that catch me off guard. The word translated "transgression of the law" in the King James is actually one word in the Greek. Anomia. Lawlessness. It doesn't just describe something you do. It describes something you are.
