Repost from CSE Updates
https://indianexpress.com/article/education/parliamentary-panel-urges-upsc-to-promptly-release-answer-key-after-civil-services-prelims-9910009/ The Committee also recommended that the DoPT should set a clear timeline for implementing recommendations of the Baswan Committee, which was constituted to study the impact of the changes carried out in the scheme and the syllabus of civil services examination from time to time on administration and candidates. In response to a question raised about the progress made on the recommendations of expert committee i.e. Baswan Committee, the department informed the panel that the expert committee has submitted its report to the government. “The report touches upon multiple aspects like age limit, syllabus, question bank, mode of examination, disclosing answer keys, etc. A two-member committee was constituted by the department for examination of the Baswan Committee report along with views of Union Public Service Commission. The Committee has submitted its report, which is currently under examination in the department,” it said. The Committee, therefore, recommends that the department should set a clear timeline for implementing the Baswan Committee recommendations, reads the report.

✍️ Polity is a high-scoring subject in UPSC Prelims, with 15-18 questions asked each year. While M. Laxmikanth remains the go-to source, UPSC often derives questions from current affairs, making it essential to stay updated. 🔹 What’s Inside? ✔️ Super-simplified, exam-focused content—no unnecessary bulk, only what matters. ✔️ Complete coverage of polity-related current affairs from The Hindu & Indian Express (last 2 years). ✔️ Special Election Section—dedicated coverage of election-related news from the past year. ✔️ PYQs from 1994-2024 (CDS, NDA, CSE, CAPF)—analyzing patterns, repeated themes, and UPSC’s question framing approach. ✍️ Coming Next: Prelims X-Factor – International Relations ✍️ If you find this meaningful , exam-oriented and away from the usual generic content, like it and share it with fellow aspirants!

Though I'm not an admirer of these open tests because mostly their target is something else, told earlier.( Check this link:https://t.me/e_upsc/6329) But if you want to check your temperament and ability to tackle any unexpected questions, you can go for it. Marks doesn't matter what matter is how you are handling unexpected questions, whether you're following process throughout those 2 hrs or not. If you're able to do that then your half job is done. For known questions, you should try to avoid any silly mistakes. Lastly PYQs,PYQs,and PYQs. All the best.
