| 2 | A Small Summary of Today’s Live Session
Today, I finally decided to come live on the channel and talk directly with you all. We were around 7–8 people, and honestly, for the first live session after such a long gap, I found it quite satisfying. ❤️
We discussed some very practical questions related to studies, especially English and board preparation.
📌 How can you score good marks in English?
The first and most important thing is to understand the chapter.
There are millions of stories in the world, but why are we studying these particular chapters? Because every chapter has its own theme, message, ideas, metaphors and purpose.
So first understand what the author is actually trying to say. You can understand it in Hindi, Bengali, your mother tongue or any language you are comfortable with. Once the chapter is properly understood, you will find it much easier to frame answers when different types of questions are asked in the examination.
📌 The second thing is PRACTICE.
Writing skills cannot be improved just by reading notes.
Try to practise things like:
• Invitations
• Letters
• Letter to the Editor
• Job Application
• Letter for Placing an Order
• Other writing tasks
Try to practise at least twice a week.
And yes, you have complete freedom to send me your answers. I can check them, suggest improvements and tell you where you can improve.
📌 And the most important point — English is a LANGUAGE, not just a subject.
Do not think that simply memorising chapters will automatically help you score well.
You have to learn how to express your thoughts, understanding and ideas in English.
If you can understand something and express that understanding clearly in English, you already have one of the most important skills required for the Class 12 English examination.
📌 Which sample paper should you practise?
We discussed Oswal sample papers as one option with substantial experience in CBSE board preparation.
But remember one thing:
❌ Don't start solving sample papers while a major part of your syllabus is still pending.
First complete your syllabus → revise → then move towards sample papers and full-length practice.
📌 How should you approach Numericals?
Whether it is Physics, Economics or another numerical-based subject, don't jump directly into difficult questions.
A better progression is:
Basic formula-based questions
⬇️
Medium-level questions using multiple concepts/formulas
⬇️
Higher-level / NCERT-level questions
You can also use AI properly while practising.
Don't simply ask AI, “Give me the answer.”
Instead, ask it to generate questions in levels — basic → medium → higher level — and solve them yourself.
📌 One more thing I want you to remember
Students who regularly read English novels, newspapers or other English content often develop a better understanding of vocabulary, sentence formation and expression.
You don't have to treat English only as a board subject.
Treat it as a language and give it some time regularly.
You don't need to become perfect overnight. Just keep improving.
