Ten Hag: “This club has to compete for the highest [honours] in the world: Champions League and Premier League. But for that, you need funds, to construct squads because, at the end of the day, the levels from your players dictate whether you are a success or not.”

Ten Hag: “No I don't have [guarantees about funds for the summer] . I don't have influence on that so, I don't know. The only thing that I know is that #mufc is one of the biggest clubs and I think this club has to compete for the highest [honours] in the world.”

Ten Hag: “There are so many aspects you have to take control of, you have to appoint and I don't think one person can do it and it always about co-operation. Then it is about quality that makes a strategy and you need more people and people to do it with togetherness.”

Ten Hag: “At the end of the day, it is always about co-operation, no one can do it on their own. I don't believe that one person can do it, because there are so many jobs and tasks to do.”

Ten Hag: “That you bring more players in but I think we have already shown and proved that we can beat the best teams in the world. So yeah we can compete in the #UCL but at the end of the day we also want to still be in the Champions League in the winter…”
2 141
Ten Hag: “Yeah, I think so [#mufc can compete in the #UCL next season]. But of course, I and we see this as a project. In the project also it belongs that in [transfer] windows you strengthen your squad. Or to make refreshments so that you can get more balance…”

Ten Hag on whether Lisandro Martinez could be fit for the FA Cup final: “Completely no chance.”

Ten Hag on the importance of resolving the #mufc takeover soon: “I think it’s clear what I want but it’s not up to me. It's about others in the club and finally it is only the owners who can make that decision.”

Ten Hag on the need to improve away results: “That is absolutely true. It has to do with personality and character, that is where we have to step up and we have to face this. We have to definitely improve.”

Ten Hag on picking up the green and gold flag at Old Trafford: “It was just polite. But I know what is going around and what the symbol of it is, but this matter was just polite.”

Ten Hag: “We make structures, with the Academy doing good work, but we work together in structures with the Under-21s into training [with] the first team. But at the end of the day, the talent has to do it by himself.”

Ten Hag on youth prospects: “Garnacho, but also Kobbie Mainoo is on his way, there is a pathway into the first team but they have to deserve it.”
2 141
Ten Hag: “I think Rapha [Varane] is closer [to returning] than Scott McTominay in this moment. But still they are, for the coming two games [Brighton and West Ham], they are not available.”
2 141
Ten Hag on Alejandro Garnacho: “I think we have one training [session], but I think it's too soon to be available [for tomorrow]. I think he is short [of full fitness]. I think he needs some training and then, in short notice, he will be available.”
