Also, “Artificial distinction between married and single women is not constitutionally sustainable”, and that “the benefits in law extend equally to both single and married women.”
• Supreme Court’s Hijab Judgement:-
“Asking a pre-university schoolgirl to take off her Hijab at her school gate is an invasion on her privacy and dignity.”
• Supreme Court on promoting women army officers to army:-
“We feel that you (Army) have not been fair to these women officers.… You better set your house in order and tell us what you are doing for them.”
• Supreme Court on tribal women’s rights in intestate succession:-
“To deny the equal right to the daughter belonging to the tribal even after a period of 70 years of the Constitution, under which right to equality is guaranteed, it is high time for the Central Government to look into the matter.”
• Supreme Court on dowry :-
“A strong message must go in the society that a person who commits such an offence of dowry death shall be dealt with an iron hand.”
“The offence of dowry death is an offence against society. Such offences have a serious impact on society.”
• Supreme Court on gender diversity in Judiciary :-

CORE INFLATION:
✅ Core inflation is the change in the costs of goods and services but does not include those from the food and energy sectors.
✅ Food and energy prices are exempt from this calculation because their prices can be too volatile or fluctuate wildly.
✅ Current core inflation has been driven by multiple factors, including input price pressures for clothing, rebound in demand for services as well as transmission of headline inflation into categories like housing rentals.
