Regional Office for Central Asia (UNODC ROCA) announces an internship:
📝
Position:
Intern for UNODC Project for Enhancing Regional Cross-Border Cooperation by Strengthening the Capacity of Border Liaison Offices in Central Asia
⏳ Duration:
3 months (June 1, 2024 - August 31, 2024)
🧾
Job duties:
- Support in organization of meetings, conferences, workshops and other Project events to strengthen strategic engagement with UN system partners;
- Provide general office support (including drafting, processing and finalizing Project related documents such as Note Verbales, letters, contracts, etc.);
- Assist in evaluation of the pre- and post-training test, surveys through using Google analytics and other online resources;
- Assist in the evaluation of commercial proposals;
- Assist in conducting marketing research;
- Conduct search and compile information on the situation related to firearms trafficking, terrorism and organized crime in Central Asia;
- Assist in drafting minutes of the meetings, short reports, news briefs, web-stories;
- Assist in data collection on open sources using technology and innovation practices;
- Setting up and maintaining files/records;
- Assist in collection of contact information;
- Performing other admin duties if required.

Candidate Requirements:
- Pursuing graduate degree in management, business administration, finance, social sciences or other relevant academic disciplines;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel etc.);
- Good typing and designing skills;
- Excellent knowledge of English, Russian;
- Knowledge of Uzbek is an advantage.

• Familiarizing how the UN/UNODC works in Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries;
• First-hand information of the day-to-day working environment of the United Nations;
• Working directly with UN professionals and senior management;
• Organizing high-profile conferences, participating in meetings, and contributing to analytical work;
• Expanding soft skills such as organizational skills, communication skills (both oral and written);
• Acquiring direct exposure to UNODC’s activities on countering transnational organized crime, illicit drug trafficking and preventing terrorism.
