Women Attending the Eid Prayer
In the UK, it is common practice to hold the Eid prayer in an open public space (like a park or field), allowing families - including women - to gather, celebrate and express their public subservience to Allah after a month of worship.
In this regard, we have the report of the female companion 'Umm Atiyyah who says that the Prophet (peace be upon him) actively encouraged different types of women - including the young and mature - to attend the Eid prayer (as found in authentic reports from both Bukhari and Muslim).
In fact, he even encouraged the menstruating women to attend the public Eid space (who would simply remain behind the congregation as they do not perform the Eid prayer).
Why? So that they too may glorify Allah (i.e. takbir) alongside the other believers' glorification (which also indicates this was likely practiced collectively in unison), and that they may also join in the believers' supplication, and witness the day's blessing as part of the communal subservience to Allah Most High.
In one report, 'Umm Atiyyah is curiously asked: Even the menstruating women? She responds: Does she not witness days like that of 'Arafah?
In other words, just because she does not perform the prayer while menstruating does not mean she cannot attend and partake in the communal gathering, in the same way a menstruating woman partakes in the communal gathering of 'Arafah during the days of her pilgrimage.
I pray Allah accepts our subservience to Him and our public display of His gratitude on the day of Eid. All praise belongs to Him! And may Allah bless each and every one of you! ♥️🙏

Many discussions on Ijtihad and Taqlid have a warped understanding of the nature of learning and knowledge acquisition, as though people come out the womb with knowledge of all things.
Your perception of ijtihad and taqlid is directly connected to your perception of knowledge.
If you simply strip the terms 'ijtihad' and 'taqlid' (which people find very loaded) and just reflect on the nature of learning (like how humans gradually and incrementally acquire knowledge; how they reach subject specialism; the process by which people naturally gain confidence in conclusions; the human requirement of appealing to expertise; and that it is humanly impossible to have knowledge of all things), you'll have a more accurate conception of the topic and naturally arrive at conclusions that are free of any baggage.

This organisation in Batley does the work that a mosque in a cosmopolitan area should do. There are not many places in the Dewsbury-Batley area that offer what Al-Hashim Academy offers. It it were to magically be lifted and placed in the heart of London, it would not look out of place. It is unfortunately the best kept secret in the Dewsbury-Batley area. I am working with the Academy to raise its profile. It is a mosque, a secondary school, an Alimiyyah institution, a centre for Muslim converts, a food bank, host to international speakers and scholars, and many other activities that are too numerous to mention here.
The Academy has been running for a decade and is becoming increasingly self sustaining thanks to an innovative vision. Your generosity will ensure this mosque and educational institution in the heart of the town centre will be able to offer more unique programmes to both residents and those coming from outside the area, men and women, to participate in its activities.

Q. If a person stands and enters into prayer only when the Imam goes into ruku during the first rak'ah of a Tarawih prayer, is this valid?
A. The Salah is valid according to the correct view. But:
1. Such an individual is afflicted with laziness - something that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم sought refuge from (اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الهم والحزن والعجز والكسل والجبن والبخل وضلع الدين وغلبة الرجال).
2. Laziness in Salah is one of the signs of the Munafiqun, as per the Quran in at least two verses (وَإِذَا قَامُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُواْ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا, and وَلَا يَأۡتُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِلَّا وَهُمۡ كُسَالَىٰ). The last thing an individual should do when showing up for Tarawih is to showcase to the whole mosque how deeply affected he is with this particular trait of the Munafiqun.
3. This person would have missed out on the virtue of Qiyam, which is to stand in front of Allah. A technical attainment of Qiyam does not constitute receiving the reward for it. The main act of worship in the nights of Ramadan is to prolong Qiyam, not the technical attainment of a rak'ah: من قام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه.
4. When should remain with the Imam in prayer up to the end: من قام مع الإمام حتى ينصرف كتب الله له قيام ليلة. This does not only mean up to and including Witr, but also when the Imam starts prayer. Of the 20 rak'ah, some people - in practice - only observe 10 rak'ahs, which is utterly shameful and should be considered socially unacceptable. In an ideal world, these individuals would have their testimonies in court rejected, given how they resemble the Munafiqun
5. Remaining seated in the middle of the congregation constitutes a break in the row, which is highly undesirable. If man insists on this abhorrent practice, he should at least move to the right or left where the row ends, or he shoudl relocate himself to the row of hermaphrodites whose gender designation is obscure. That way, he will not break the rows of the men and children in front of him.
6. A person who is physically tired easily should pray sitting: صل قائماً، فإن لم تستطع فقاعداً، فإن لم تستطع فعلى جنب. If he is able to stand but becomes tired quickly, he should stand in the first rak'ah and remain seated in the second rak'ah while the Imam is standing. Or he can sit down midway through the first rak'ah, then stand in the second rak'ah and sit down when he becomes tired again, etc. That way, he will receive the full reward for attempting Qiyam while having a genuine excuse.
7. If a person does not want to offer prayer even while seated, he should leave the vicinity after Isha - or not show up in the first place. He can offer the Tarawih prayer at his leisure at home, or attend a congregation where the Qiyam is relatively shorter. Or he does not have to offer Tarawih at all to begin with, just like womenfolk at home who are tired after a day of hard work with their children. Even this - skipping Tarawih altogether - is far better of an option than falling into the prayer methods of the Munafiqun.
