One of the biggest issues I have with modern Batman iterations is that they don’t really understand why Batman has the “no kill” rule, and it’s not because of any superior morality that he has, it’s because he cannot stop if he starts, the guys whole thing is that he witnessed a brutal murder first hand, and it wasn’t just any random murder, it was his parents murder. Which is why killing has such a negative association in his head, like he physically cannot hold the gun to shoot somebody with, in the Batman beyond series, the whole reason Bruce Wayne stopped being Batman was because during one of his missions, he had to threaten a criminal with a gun, which is how he knew he was too weak to continue on

One of the things that i like about bojack horseman is the ending song, specifically the lyric that goes "that im more of a man than a horse, or im more of a horse than a man" because it shows exactly the type of indecisiveness that bojack displays throughout the series, the fact that they put the "more man than a horse" lyric first also lowkey lowkey might be a refrence to how bojack tries to humanize his flaws and making excuses that might all be boiled down to "im just a person, people are imperfect" type shi❤️
