🚨 A cyber disaster rocks GitHub and the entire tech world… and what happened is truly terrifying! 😳💀 Imagine waking up to find that one of the world's largest software platforms has suffered a serious breach, and the source code for over 4,000 projects has been put up for sale on the dark web for just $50,000! Yes… this actually happened to GitHub, and the situation is much bigger than people imagine. The story began when a group of hackers called TeamPCP managed to infiltrate GitHub's internal network in a truly shocking way… Not through a super-vulnerability or an alien attack like in the movies… No 😶 All that happened was that an employee inside the company unknowingly downloaded a malicious extension to Visual Studio Code! This extension was a complete backdoor for the hackers… it stole sensitive data and opened the way for them to access internal systems, and then the massive leak began. Shocking? The source code for thousands of projects was put up for sale on darknet forums as if it were just any ordinary commodity! 😨 Even though GitHub stated that customer data wasn't leaked and that investigations are still ongoing… what happened alone is enough to make any developer or tech company rethink their digital security approach. But wait… the trouble doesn't end there 💀 The same group of hackers decided to play a much more dangerous game… They targeted a very popular Python package called durabletask, which is installed approximately 417,000 times per month and is associated with Microsoft projects. Hackers have professionally implanted malware on it… and anyone who downloaded versions: ▪️ 1.4.1 ▪️ 1.4.2 ▪️ 1.4.3 most likely has their device completely compromised 😶‍💨 And this malware is no joke… it was doing the following: ☠️ Stealing passwords ☠️ Stealing SSH keys ☠️ Stealing Docker credentials ☠️ Spreading within AWS and Kubernetes like a worm ☠️ And the most dangerous thing… if it detected that the device was running an Israeli or Iranian system, it would execute a direct destructive command: rm -rf /* This means a complete and merciless deletion of the system and files 💀 We are literally living in a time where a small extension or package can destroy an entire company or steal years of work in seconds. This proves that the biggest danger right now isn't the hacker who forcibly breaks security… but rather the blind trust we place in any tool, plugin, or library we install daily without reviewing it. If you're a developer, work in cybersecurity, or even just use software tools casually… review everything. Update your passwords. Enable 2FA. Check any package or extension before installing it. Because attacks are now smarter… and closer than you imagine. 🚨
