Intense Shelling Continues in Central Kurram; Displacement of Local Population Enters Second Day
Since early morning today, artillery shelling and firing have continued in Zangi, Ado, Gholingo, Tindori, Jauso, and adjacent areas of Central Kurram, creating an atmosphere of fear and anxiety in the area.
According to local sources and residents, intense shelling was carried out in various areas today, while some local sources claim that more than 50 artillery shells were fired. However, this number could not be independently verified.
On the other hand, displacement of the local population from Chanark, Kandali, and Urmegi continues for the second day. Affected families, including children, women, and the elderly, are moving to safer locations.
According to local residents, no proper camp has been established for the displaced families so far, nor is there adequate transport arrangement, nor have effective arrangements been made for the supply of food and other basic necessities.
Residents say that continuous firing has caused fear and panic among the civilian population, and there is a risk of harm to ordinary people, homes, and places of worship.
Local people have demanded from the relevant authorities that protection be provided to the civilian population, the firing be stopped, and a peaceful solution to the problem be found. Residents say they do not want to leave their homes and area, and want the lives and property of innocent civilians to be protected.
