في 27 يونيو 2021، قُدِّم علمٌ آخر من قِبَل المستخدم "nyoomster" عبر خادم ديسكورد (Discord) الخاص بـ "LGBTA+ wiki". صُمِّم العلم ليعكس شعور التواجد في "منطقة رمادية"، وهو ما ترمز إليه الحدود الرمادية المحيطة باللون الأرجواني المميِّز لطيف اللاجنسية (ace spectrum) وقد استُخدمت درجات أرجوانية أكثر دكانةً وصقلاً للإشارة إلى حالة عدم اليقين التي قد تصاحب الهوية "الرمادية الجنسية" (greysexual)، ولإضفاء مظهر عصري يسهل تمييزه

في 3 ديسمبر 2020، ابتكر مستخدم يُدعى "Angel" علماً ثانياً لـ "الجنسية الرمادية" (greysexuality). ترمز الدرجات اللونية الداكنة إلى الشعور بانجذاب جنسي عرضي، بينما ترمز الدرجات المتوسطة إلى الوقوع ضمن طيف اللاجنسية (ace spectrum)، وتشير الدرجات الأفتح إلى عدم الشعور بأي انجذاب جنسي، في حين يرمز اللون الأبيض إلى المجتمع صُمم العلم البديل الثاني للجنسية الرمادية من قبل مستخدم "ريديت" (Reddit) يحمل الاسم "U/AkidIguess" في 22 نوفمبر 2020 أما العلم البديل الثالث فقد صممه مستخدم "ريديت" يحمل الاسم "u/adeltae" في 19 أبريل 2021. يرمز اللون الأسود إلى غياب الانجذاب الجنسي، والرمادي الداكن إلى وجود قدر ضئيل جداً منه، والبنفسجي إلى الانجذاب الجنسي المشروط، والرمادي الفاتح إلى وجود بعض الانجذاب الجنسي (ولكن ليس بمستوى الأفراد ذوي التوجه الجنسي النمطي/allosexual)، بينما يرمز اللون الأبيض إلى المجتمع

صممت "ميليث روسينولو" (Milith Rusignuolo) علم "الجنسية الرمادية" (greysexuality)، ورُفع التصميم على موقع ويكيبيديا في 21 يونيو 2013 صُمم العلم ليرمز إلى حالة شخص يبدأ دون أي انجذاب جنسي (يُشار إليه باللون الأرجواني الذي يمثل "اللا جنسية")، ثم يمر بمرحلة واحدة من الانجذاب الجنسي (انتقالاً من اللون الرمادي إلى الأبيض، حيث يمثل الأبيض "الجنسية المغايرة/الكلية" المستمدة من علم اللا جنسية)، ليعود بعدها إلى حالة اللا جنسية.

نشأ مفهوم "اللا-جنسية الرمادية" (gray-asexuality) في أوائل العقد الأول من القرن الحادي والعشرين عبر منتديات AVEN ففي عام 2003، طرح أحد أعضاء AVEN مفهوم "شبه الجنسية" (semisexuality) للإشارة إلى حالة وسطية تقع بين اللا-جنسية والجنسية ولاحقاً، في عام 2006، اقترح العضو KSpaz مصطلح "gray-a" (اللا-جنسي الرمادي) لوصف تلك المنطقة "الضبابية" أو غير المحددة بدقة ضمن طيف اللا-جنسية.
