Early October always feels like a witness that refuses to speak. The rain keeps falling, the coffee keeps getting cold, and somehow the night knows more about me than anyone ever could.

Some people write because they have something to say. You write because something inside you refuses to stay silent. Your pages feel like abandoned theaters after midnight. Dust hanging in the air. Velvet curtains half-burned. Reality and imagination arguing in the dark while nobody remembers who started the fight. I don't know you. But I know the feeling of staring at a thought for so long that it becomes a room you accidentally move into. You seem fascinated by mirrors. Not the kind hanging on walls. The kind hidden inside people. The ones that show them things they never wanted to see. And maybe that's why some leave. Most people love reflections until the reflection starts looking back. There is something beautiful about the way you write. Not beautiful in the comfortable sense. More like finding a forgotten diary in a locked drawer and realizing the author was slowly dissecting their own existence line by line. You speak about illusion and reality like they're two old enemies fighting over the same territory. Your skin. Your memories. Your name. Maybe that's why artificial intelligence unsettles you. Not because it's new. Because it raises an uncomfortable question. If thoughts can be imitated, if words can be reproduced, if identities can be mirrored— then where exactly does a person end and their reflection begin? I think you'd like that question. Or maybe you'd hate it. They're often the same thing. So I'll leave this torn page where all strange stories should end: If every mirror in the world suddenly showed not who you are, but who you could have been— would you still recognize yourself as the original?
With love & respect, Harlan.
