nightmares always feel like this they swallow me but i let go doesn't feel like i can breathe they follow me but i let go yeah , i let go

your back beneath the sun wishing i could write my name on it will you call when you're back at school? i remember thinking i had you but i can see us lost in the memory August slipped away into a moment in time cause it was never mine and i can see us twisted in bedsheets August sipped away like a bottle of wine cause you were never mine

for example today i realized i played enough characters in life (if you know taylor swift and especially the love story triangle in folklore you'd understand what i'm trying to say) i played so many characters or let's say i lived enough characters in life that once in life i was "cardigan" and the other time i was "betty" and for a lot of times i was "august" that's how much life could be long , that you could be everything at once that you could be a lot of things.

i don't always agree with people who say "life is too short" sometimes i'm the one who say that actually and i kinda disagree with my own self. because actually life is long enough to do a lot of things and to be a lot of things life could be long when you only make it long by yourself. and when you sit alone by yourself and remember the things that happened to you the characters you played you'd probably be like "actually i think i lived long enough" but that doesn't mean that if you have a long life means that you're planning on wasting time instead , be everything when you decide to do , to be everything then at that time you'd actually feel how life is long.

im sick of saying "maybe in another life" i want it in this life
