Four years ago a brave young woman named Jina Mahsa Amini was arrested in Tehran by Irans morality police over allegations related to her hijab She was only 22 years old She was taken away simply because of the way she was wearing her hair and hijab and a few days later she died in a hospital Her death became a turning point and what began with the name of one young woman became a nationwide cry for freedom From Zahedan to Tehran from Mashhad to Kurdistan from Tabriz to Ahvaz people stood up Women and men young and old inside Iran and across the world raised their voices and demanded freedom dignity and equality The streets echoed with one unforgettable call زن زندگی آزادی Four years later we remember Jina We remember every life lost We remember every voice that refused to be silent This is not justice This is not freedom And we will not forget
