try to change but nothing in me moves Every promise I make to myself breaks in silence I tell myself tomorrow will be different But tomorrow looks exactly the same I'm too deep inside my own darkness So deep that light feels unfamiliar I didn't fall into it by accident I stayed long enough for it to become home I wanted to see the world clearly So I walked into the shadows on purpose Now everything makes sense in the worst way Pain explains people Cruelty explains love Loneliness explains truth I cant be soft anymore I cant pretend hope still works on me Even when I want to change Even when I scream at myself to become better My darkness answers louder It wraps around my thoughts It shapes how I see everything I see the world not as it should be But as it really is Cold selfish and temporary And maybe I am broken
