It just reminded me how deeply misogyny has shaped so many institutions throughout history

that scene hit me so hard

We've barely had any female prophets in major religions and that pissed me off because it made me think about how historically women who claimed to hear voices, have visions, or speak to the divine were so often dismissed as witches, hysterical or crazy Meanwhile, men with similar claims were much more likely to be called prophets or messengers of God

can we talk about the fact that when Mr Reed made up his own religion he used a female prophet?
