it was because every time i look into your eyes, i thought of somebody else. i kept searching for something they had in you. in my head, i always compared the things you did for me with them. the realization started when i said their favorite food instead of yours, and sooner or later you were tired. that wasn’t your fault, it was entirely mine. it was me who ended our relationship because i thought that you were too good for me, who was still not over them.

it was because we both were still healing from each other’s trauma and no longer able to support each other anymore. you were struggling with your own issues and tried to reach my hand for help while i couldn’t even reach my own hand. we just weren’t ready for relationship, we still need more time on our own to fix ourselves. being together sadly made us feel overwhelmed, because i couldn’t be your safe place and vice versa. it wasn’t due to lack of love, we were just growing and needed time for ourselves.
