Do You Love Me is a playful and personal journey through Lebanon's audio-visual memory, composed entirely of archival footage. It is a love letter to Beirut, spanning 70 years of film, TV, home videos and photography, exploring the Lebanese collective psyche - marked by joy and intimacy, destruction and loss.

Morning :) Let's go running, as this is usually the time when we are the most logical. If it is easy to achieve, it likely indicates a lower ROI.

I am only 40 percent into this book, and I do not think it is just a sole experience of mine. The Shampoo Effect navigates the life of our main character, Caroline, who happens to fall into a relationship with a man who, in the middle of their relationship, happens to be an expecting father with a different woman.
Here is the thing: our generation consumed movies like Pretty Woman only to grow up and know how there was nothing charming about those two. Healthy relationships are conversations, but in action, we both know how that is completely different. We have unconsciously decided to at least try to deviate from what we grew up watching and what our community preaches, and here I am intently following this character.
Do you stay because you believe in love? In the value of that relationship, or just leave because of two people who happened to make a mistake, but have seemingly little chance of getting back together? There is a conundrum I am seeing where we have left our values up in the air and each decision is wobbly. Fascinating, I tell you. I’ll tell you where this goes.
And I mostly read fiction that breaks down characters to their bones, where humanity can only be real. If you guys would like, I can share a lot more from the many books I am in love with.

To hate a person
From their action,
Not to hate a person
From their action.
Energy must go somewhere,
Transform into an impact,
Changing mine.
The only reason must be my worth,
The only reason must be my capacity.
That is the question I hear in your voice,
In your notes and comments.
Overlook my experimental, valuable expression.
You template interactions to survive
Your bruises.
Well, I matched bruises,
I created them for you.
That is our love.
I'm just learning to hate your action.
I'll learn healthier ways to say
Hello,
To say I care about you.
I'll answer your phone.

I’m still the little girl on her father’s shoulders,
Above his head,
With more
Sneakers and phones more expensive.
And he goes on to be the engineer
Who builds walls for his daughter.
My name in designs,
My name in his eyes,
In all-nighters.
Love is a particular thing,
It comes out of you.
You need some for yourself, Dad.
Your daughter already has the world,
This feels like this book has the honesty that our generation lacks. The uncertainty we fear. The womanhood all new to us in a new form. The reality of what might be. I love literary fiction, but this is really something.
Actually, I am going to prescribe a healthy dose of moving around to this. Sam Henshaw anytime!
