An attempt of integrating digital and AI tools into my writing class during our extra class session based on a practice from the Top Score workbook. For this lesson, students explored samples of school e-bulletins and carried out a 3-2-1 reflection activity using Padlet as part of the pre-writing stage. They also moved around the classroom to discuss and exchange ideas with different partners in a fun collaborative activity. With the support of NotebookLM, students learned the dos and don’ts of writing a good school magazine review before working together to draft their paragraphs on mahjong paper. Finally, they used Microsoft Copilot to refine their grammar and vocabulary, and the polished essays were compiled into the PDF shared above. More importantly, students were guided on how to use AI responsibly and correctly in an academic setting, not to replace their thinking, but to support and improve their learning process.

Because impactful teaching does not always begin with perfect resources, fancy classrooms, or flawless lessons. Sometimes, it simply begins with a teacher who is willing to try, connect, inspire, and make students feel seen. It starts with YOU 💙

Just returned from the 2-day Bengkel Kerja Kickstart Your Teaching Journey: Bringing the Joy to the English Classroom for Novice Secondary School English Teachers 2026. Truly honoured to serve as a core facilitator representing the Teach For Malaysia Guru Muda Fellowship alongside my amazing LDM and LDOs throughout this meaningful journey. Together with 25 passionate novice English teachers, we explored engaging and student-centred ESL strategies across all four language skills while allowing teachers to experience the activities themselves as learners first. From movement-based learning to collaborative discussions and reflective practices, the workshop was filled with laughter, meaningful exchanges, and so much positive energy. Most importantly, it was inspiring to witness more English teachers who are ready to create impactful, joyful, and meaningful classrooms for their students.

Nothing heavy, just learning by doing, making mistakes, and improving together. We also explored how we can start implementing the use of iPads in PdPc to make lessons more interactive, organised, and engaging for students. Small steps, but meaningful progress.
