The President said that the growth of domestic tourism would make a significant contribution to the local economy and stressed the importance of promoting the tourism sector. He also urged all concerned to work together to advance the development of Mandalay Region, which has strong potential for growth. The President toured the exhibition booths and viewed with interest the products, local food items, handicrafts, and garments produced by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Mandalay Region. Based on the presentations made by officials, he pro-vided the necessary guidance and instructions. #Our

Regarding the livestock sector, the prices of meat and fish in Mandalay Region are currently high. If regional self-sufficiency in consumption can be achieved and extended nationwide, the prices of meat and fish are expected to decline. Furthermore, if more livestock feed based on locally produced agricultural products is manufactured and livestock farming is systematically carried out, it will help ensure regional food self-sufficiency and reduce rising commodity prices. Every citizen has to strive for securing healthy life with longevity Regarding health, the 2024-2025 Population and Housing Census showed that the country’s life expectancy is 69 years, which is still lower than that of neighbouring and regional countries. Therefore, it is nece-ssary for every citizen to be in good health. In order to maintain good individual health, a strong economy is also required, and only when the economy is strong can living conditions, food consumption, and education improve. As education improves, social and economic conditions will also advance, enabling all citizens to enjoy a long and healthy life. In agriculture, cotton cultivation is carried out in Sagaing, Magway, Mandalay and Bago regions. Among them, Mandalay Region is the second-largest cotton-producing region. There-fore, it is possible to successfully develop cotton-based industrial production within Mandalay Region. If cotton production can be further improved, it will bring significant benefits to both the region and the country. Efforts will also be made, in coordination with relevant authorities, to promote the growth of the weaving industry within Mandalay Region. From cotton, yarn and textile products can be produced, and cottonseed oil as well as animal feed from cottonseed cake can also be manufactured. Cotton processing machines are also being experimentally produced, and once successful, they will be further distributed. Therefore, efforts are encourag-ed to promote the development of cotton-based industries in Mandalay Region. Products must have access to markets and be marketable goods. For the development of the national economy, it is essential that every citizen possesses economic awareness. Therefore, the economic subject is being taught in universities. “Where goods are the same, the price must be lower; where prices are the same, the quality must be better.” If this principle is applied, greater market access can be achieved. It would be better to adopt the cooperative system for regional development. As a collective approach, it enables those engaged in agriculture and livestock production to work together, especially benefiting smaller or weaker producers. In doing so, businesses can become more successful and generate higher income. The cooperative system is also widely practiced in developed countries around the world. Schools will reopen on June 1, with enrollment week activities scheduled to begin on the 25th of this month. Efforts are encouraged to ensure that all school-age children in Mandalay Region are enrolled and that schools can reopen fully and resume teaching. Greenery and tourism development Regarding water supply, efforts will be made to make effective use of existing resources to ensure an adequate water supply in Mandalay Region. In terms of greenery, while the hot weather cannot be changed, its impact can be reduced by planting trees in villages and towns and carrying out systematic roadside tree planting. These measures will help create a greener environment and a more balanced climate. A green landscape and a healthy environment can provide both visual appeal and a sense of comfort for residents, while also attracting more visitors to the region. As the saying goes, “Guests will only come to a happy house,” all stakeholders are encouraged to work together to enhance the beauty of the region, preserve its traditional heritage, improve traditional clothing and cuisine, and pro-vide quality services.

endeavours for improving the transport sector, upgrading of rail transportation, a public transportation system, that benefits the country, extension of railway services, efforts for digitalization process through phase-by-phase upgrading method. Discussing regional development measures Afterwards, the President gave guidance on regional development matters. He said that it was his first meeting with the public since assuming the duties of President. Mandalay was described as not only the commercial and industrial hub of Upper Myanmar but also a city  rich in ancient cultural heritage. During the recent Thingyan period, the country’s traditional New Year festival, the Ata Thingyan Festival, was successfully celebrated in a vivid manner in accordance with Myanmar’s traditional cultural customs, helping to enhance the nation’s image. Therefore, the President extended appreciation and congratulations to all the people of Mandalay. Mandalay Region is a distinctive region that has achieved success in industry as well as in agricultural and livestock sectors. In terms of  the cultivation and production of 14 key crops, the region is in a satisfactory position, and continued efforts are encouraged to achieve even higher targets. The region’s GDP is approximately US$-9 billion annually, accounting for about 10 percent of the country’s total GDP. At present, due to changes in global political conditions, fuel shortages are being experienced in countries around the world, and Myanmar is also affected. Therefore, efforts are being made to improve public transport services, and priority is being given to the development of the railway transport sector. Encouraging agrobased industries Due to the failure to meet production targets in Mandalay Region, the country incurs annual losses of approximately Ks-3,765 billion in the 10 major crops. Nationwide, it results in estimated annual losses of around US$-8 billion. It is reported that if full multiple-cropping potential could be achieved on the existing cultivated land, the country could gain an additional annual benefit of about US$-20 billion. Since Myanmar is a country whose economy is based on agriculture and livestock, it is necessary to further develop these sectors. Even in many developed countries around the world, agriculture is still given significant importance. For example, even the United States, one of the world’s most powerful countries, produces large quantities of agricultural products and exports them abroad. Therefore, efforts should be made to promote agro-based industries as well as micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in order to achieve national economic development. Only then will educated human resources develop the State and maintain its status for long term existence To achieve this, it is necessary for the country to develop a strong human resource base with higher levels of education and rich knowledge and skills. Looking at the country’s education sector, it can be observed that it has remained weak across different periods, and therefore it must be upgraded without fail. Only when will educated human reources develop the State and maintain its status for long term existence. Through formal education, it is possible to further enhance both skills and knowledge. Therefore, efforts must be made to ensure that all school-age children are able to access education. At present, the government has set KG+9 compulsory education as the minimum national education target and is working to produce more educated and capable human resources. Since Myanmar is a country that primarily relies on agriculture and livestock, agricultural experts must be developed. Accordingly, agriculture, livestock, and industrial subjects are being taught at the middle and high school levels. The President urged that continued efforts be made to support and nurture a new generation of young people who are well-educated and skilled, and who will lead the nation in the future.
