Delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia pays a courtesy call on President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing Nay Pyi Taw June 8 A delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia H.E. Mr. Sugiono paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of the Union of Myan-mar U Min Aung Hlaing at the Presidential Parlour in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon. Also present at the call together with the President were Union Minister at the President’s Office U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe, Vice Chair-man of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Working Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and officials. The Indonesian Foreign Minister was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Santo Darmosumarto, Director General of Asia, Pacific, and Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, and officials and officials of the Indonesian Embassy in Myanmar. At the call, both sides recounted the cordial relations between the governments and leaders of the two good old friends, Myanmar and Indonesia, starting from the time of independence struggles. They also discussed Indonesia’s appreciation of the challenges and hardships Myanmar is facing at present and its full confidence in the elected government led by President U Min Aung Hlaing that it will bring rapid progress and peace to Myanmar. Both sides highlighted the point that Indonesia always regards Myanmar as part of ASEAN and as a friend and that it will provide necessary support to Myanmar to become a successful and peaceful country. The two sides also agreed that Myanmar is making efforts to the most possible degree in realizing the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus and to cooperate with the ASE-AN community. Then they cordially exchanged views on the continued endeavours to cement the restrengthening Myanmar-ASEAN relations, further promotion of the existing friendly relations. They also discussed the global countries’ adoption of a democratic system based on their own characteristics, believes, religions, and cultural values, although it is the best system in the world, the efforts of the government to stand as the one that guarantees benefits for the country, the ongoing task of the Myanmar government to become time-tested organization that is able to turn Myanmar into a peaceful, stable and developed country and promotion of diplomatic relations, friendship and cooperation between the two countries. After the call, the President and the Indonesian Foreign Minister posed for documentary photos.
