Today, I’m asking our security chiefs in the UK to begin work on a new National Center for Information Defense to detect, attribute and disrupt these kinds of hostile state information attacks.

🇬🇧🇷🇺🇺🇳 REPORT
British PM Andy Burnham:
The Kremlin spends around £1.3 billion each year on manipulating information.
We’re talking about an insidious campaign that reaches into people’s homes and twists what they feel about their own country and community, creating a narrative of decline, stoking division and sowing despair.

🇬🇧🇷🇺🇺🇳 REPORT
British PM Andy Burnham:
In recent years, we have seen industrial-scale assault by hostile actors on the information environment in the UK and that of many of our allies.
Russian agencies have used every means at their disposal to spread lies and disinformation and prey on people's fears.
They've used bots and fake websites, falsified newspaper articles, forged the branding of 28 British organisations including universities and the BBC.
They've amplified far-right narratives and we have evidence that they tried to interfere with the 2019 general election.

🇯🇵🇺🇳 REPORT
Japan’s PM Sanae Takaichi:
The catastrophic consequences of nuclear weapons must never be repeated.
It is Japan’s mission, as the only country to ever suffer atomic bombings during war, to lead the efforts of the international community towards a world without nuclear weapons.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 REPORT
U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff:
Today, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, we engaged in lengthy talks with the Iranian delegation through the mediators, who shuttled between the two sides throughout the day.
They successfully completed a round of discussions that we hope will prove constructive and promising.
The mediators will continue their work.

🇺🇸🇺🇦🇷🇺 REPORT
Secretary of State Marco Rubio:
This war is not good for either side. It's obviously not good for Ukraine.
It's terrible for Russia. I mean, they’re not doing well in this war. They just aren’t.
So it makes all the sense in the world to stop it. But unfortunately, in foreign policy and in matters such as this, sometimes what makes sense isn’t necessarily what happens.

🇮🇱🇮🇷 REPORT
Israel's Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon:
We know where the leaders of Iran are hiding. We know what they are doing and saying.
I think they care about their life. They realized that if they attack Israel, it’s only a matter of days until we get them.

🇸🇾🇺🇸 REPORT
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa:
I had nothing to do with 9/11. I was 13 years old at that time. I didn’t know anything about this stuff.
Of course, I am sorry for all the victims, both in the U.S. and those who fell in the Middle East because of the policies that were pursued there.

🇸🇩🇺🇸🇺🇳 REPORT
The U.S. is withholding a visa for Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan ahead of his scheduled UN General Assembly address in an effort to pressure him to accept a U.S.-backed 90-day ceasefire proposal that he has resisted, according to Reuters.
Sudan has appealed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres to intervene, arguing that preventing Burhan from attending would violate international obligations.
Burhan has postponed his trip, with Foreign Minister Mohieldin Salem expected to address the assembly instead.
Sudanese officials rejected Washington’s "take-it-or-leave-it" approach, insisting that any ceasefire proposal must remain open to negotiation.

🇺🇸 REPORT
Secretary of State Marco Rubio on AI:
The problem with AI is it's developing so fast. When we came up with nuclear energy, that was a static thing. It wasn't changing every day. AI is changing.
By the time you write some rules to control it, it's already changed 10 times in terms of new models. So that's the risk here.
The risk is this thing is developing faster than our ability to mitigate it, the damage that it might do, and harness the benefits too.
No one wants to be hurt by AI, but no country wants to be left behind either.

🇺🇸🇨🇳 REPORT
Secretary of State Marco Rubio:
No matter what our differences may be, the United States and China are the two largest economies in the world and the two most powerful countries in the world, so we have to communicate and be able to meet.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 REPORT
Secretary of State Marco Rubio:
I want to be clear: the United States never targets civilians.
That doesn't mean that in a war, unfortunately, tragically, and in a heartbreaking way, some civilians get caught in the crossfire. But we never target civilians.
You know who does target civilians? Iran. Iran targets civilians. They launch rockets into going after embassies and hotels where they knew there were civilians.
From what I can recall, it's the first time in modern history that any nation state has deliberately targeted diplomatic facilities. And they've done that routinely and directly, and through their proxies in the region.
