| 14 |  Dude what a banger. I’m really not much of a fantasy guy but that movie kicked ass. There’s a ton of subtext in this movie that you could spend days diving into but that’s not what these little reviews are for. The movie looked great, the acting was good, the story was coherent, personally I’m a fan of the Vaseline filter that got used in a lot of movies like this back in the day I think it looks cool. The lighting in this was incredible. All the scenes in dark caves and dungeons lit by torches was just mesmerizing. All the practical stuff with the dragon still looked really good for being from 1981. The phil Tippett stop motion stuff was kinda clunky but it still looked better than a lot of modern big budget CGI. Theres probably almost nobody left alive that could do a lot of VFX shit in this movie. | 141 |
