We're releasing the first batch of Dataset.ET open speech data for Amharic. 22.7 hours. 7,405 recordings. 320 speakers. Free, CC BY 4.0, on Hugging Face. Amharic has close to no open speech data. That's the gap we're trying to close, and this is the first step rather than the finished thing. Some honesty about what this is: it's a first batch. The audio isn't preprocessed yet. We're not going to tell you it's the best quality out there. We don't think it is. What we want is for people to actually use it and tell us where it falls short. The next release will be different: properly preprocessed audio, a real data pipeline with testing and validation built in. This exists because 320 people in Ethiopia gave their voices to it, and because contributors reviewed each other's recordings. Thank you to all of them. My Pleasure ! To learn ML you might need some prerequisites, but for Ai you can easily get your self, up and running in max 2 months. with Moderatly high Effort(requires More time and Dedication) It depends on you but Give it Max 3 months and you can see where you can go

Salary is not always good when you start best thing to do is Learn while you are working make 1 or 2 hours perday to learn and follow some Roadmap and fully accomplish that, you will easily become more advanced, since you have a place to fully work on what you are learning. Very soon you will Outgrow your position!

Yes i have Heard of it, I think its a solid start, but needs more Advancement based on the time you guys will be Investing as well. So i would recommend you to start doing projects, and from there to touch many areas you can advance on your self. It will definetely Give you a great Foundation thou!

You dont need Web Development Skills, but Computer Science skills would really Help. Best way to learn those are Again CS50x one playlist will teach you 3 years Worth of CS... Trust me i know this very late 😭
