This Saturday marked a major milestone for the Cursor community as we hosted the first Cursor Hackathon in Africa, right here in Addis Ababa. The event brought together 115 participants, forming 23 teams from over 50 institutions — including universities and professionals from across the country. With less than 5 hours to build and pitch their ideas, the teams delivered impressive solutions using Cursor, highlighting just how powerful the platform is for fast, collaborative software development. A total of $1,000 in Cursor credit was awarded to the top two teams. Congratulations to the winners for their outstanding work. We’re grateful to ALX Ethiopia for partnering with us and providing an excellent venue, and to Habesha Brewery for sponsoring the energizing Nigus Malt.
