Something I find weird about the decoy theory is that this missile actually costs more than an Iskander and is roughly in the same price range as a PAC-3, so that doesn’t really make sense. Unless this is some special, cheaper-produced variant, but if that were the case it shouldn’t carry the same “48N6DM” designation, which is why I find it weird tbh

First confirmed evidence of the use of the S-400 in surface-to-surface mode in Kyiv.
Today, following last night’s attack on Kyiv, debris from a 48N6DM interceptor of the S-400 air defense system was recovered. The missile was manufactured last month, on December 12, 2025. It remains unclear whether these missiles are being launched as decoys during the Iskander strikes or are intended to hit ground targets, as their accuracy is very poor over long flight distances
