DIRECT & INDIRECT QUESTIONS
Direct Question = pertanyaan secara langsung.
Contoh:
Where is the bathroom?
= Di manakah bilik air?
What time does the store open?
= Pukul berapakah kedai itu dibuka?
Indirect Question = pertanyaan yang disampaikan dengan cara yang lebih halus dan sopan.
Contoh:
Could you tell me where the bathroom is?
= Bolehkah kamu memberitahu saya di manakah bilik air itu?
Do you know what time the store opens?
= Adakah kamu tahu pukul berapakah kedai itu dibuka?
💡 Perhatikan perbezaannya:
Direct:
Where is she?
Indirect:
Do you know where she is?
❌ Do you know where is she?
Dalam Indirect Question, susunan perkataan adalah seperti ayat penyata biasa.
Direct:
Where does he live?
Indirect:
Do you know where he lives?
Pola mudah:
Do you know + question word + subject + verb?
