When I was preparing for Ielts, I tried a couple of ways to improve my speaking skills. Unfortunately several of them turned out to be just useless or difficult to use. Perhaps, I did not know how to take advantage of using them or I was just careless.
However, one of the ways that really worked out for me was memorizing sample answers and short texts. At first you do not realise how useful they are but after a while your speaking skill improves dramatically.
In short, do not look for magical strategies or approaches, just learn samples and short texts and you will be better at speaking.
Good luck!
A Day Full of Memories
Last weekend, I met an old school friend in the street. At first, I couldn’t remember her name because my mind went blank. However, her face reminded me of someone from school. Then, suddenly, the memories came flooding back.
I could distinctly remember our school trips and funny moments together. She even stirred up memories of the time when we got lost during a school picnic. It was such an unforgettable experience that I still vividly remember it today.
While we were talking, I had the impression that she was worried about something. I could sense tension in her voice. She said she had a feeling that her new job was too stressful. I told her to trust her intuition and make the best decision for herself.
As we sat outside, she said she had become very sensitive to heat, and her hands sometimes went numb in cold weather. Still, she laughed and said, “If I remember rightly, school life was much easier!” We both smiled, although some painful memories of exams still hadn’t completely faded.
