It's possible that the old Le Mer Rouge sits under parts of Interstate 5 that stretches from Canada to Mexico. You might think this is much to thin of a piece of land, you can see from google maps that the land used to stretch out further making a deeper west coast. This can be proven by looking at slide 4, Google maps shows off shore lands and one heart shaped cape or inlet that can dually be seen on 16th century cartography. How could people from 100s of years ago map something under the ocean today? They should really call the island of California the island of Oregon and California because for a time Oregon was part of this land mass. (Slide 5) To the left is a map of the island of California from antiquity, to the right is an image from my personal atlas. You can find all the same names, the map is accurate and after reviewing with NOAA officer/ cartographer we concluded that the longitudinal coordinates coincided. The mountain ranges that could have contained this temporary sea can easily be considered (slide 6) The whole notion that maps from antiquity were notoriously inaccurate can be easily disproven. Was Interstate 5 built on the island of California's "Le Mer Rouge"? From the 16th to the 18th century the legends of the island of California has created the modern palaver, was it real? I can venture to say yes. And we can use old, new maps and include real world NOAA corp cartographers in order to postulate such claims for which I am about to make There was a medieval warming that was recorded between 900 and 1300 AD right before the island of California maps were produced. It is my perception that this led to a northern melt that turned rivers into bodies of water large enough to isolate land masses like California. The topography reveals it all. (Slide one and two) California's landscape holds low land river over flows, that expands from central to southern California that could have , for a time been Le Mer Rouge. Later becoming salted lakes and now dry expanses that were ones called seas.(Slide 3)

two truck drivers collided, spinning into four other trucks that were parked at a rest stop on the side of the road on the Hume Highway, southwest of Goulburn near Breadalbane. The Hume Highway was shut down in both directions between Gunning and Cullerin Road with motorists diverted down the Federal Highway and Barton Highway via Canberra. The detour added 80 minutes of additional travel time. It is believed that one truck may have allegedly clipped the other as it pulled into the rest stop, sending both into the resting trucks. At 9am, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) announced a truck driver was “unaccounted for” after four drivers successfully escaped the wreckage. Since then, all six male drivers have been accounted for and were treated for minor injuries. It is believed that one truck was carrying eight tonnes of butane cans, with another transporting resin. A third truck was packed with memory foam and a fourth was full of alcohol. This deadly mix resulted in large fires and explosions. Seven fire trucks, including two Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) appliances were deployed, with almost 40 firefighters attending the scene. Alfie and I travelled to NSW from Melbourne two days ago. The rain in the previous 24 hours and caused so many large potholes, the Hume Highway was very dangerous. I hit one huge near Euroa and after coming over it, I passed 4 cars pulled to the side with blown tires and this was only 9am. We were very lucky. I had just had my car serviced a week before so that may have helped. The rain was heavy until Wangaratta. The driving was very difficult. I had to then drive to Canberra before up through Goulburn and Illawarra as the Hume Highway was closed due to the truck smash on Tuesday.
