Het blijft bijzonder om te zien hoe de Gemeente Leiden met twee maten lijkt te meten. Aan de ene kant verdwijnen parkeerplaatsen op plekken zoals de Nieuwe Rijn en worden er bij de Karnemelksbrug laad- en loszones ingevoerd, waarvan veel bewoners / ondernemers zich afvragen wat nu precies het doel en nut is. Aan de andere kant lijkt het alsof bedrijven die in opdracht van de gemeente werken overal en de hele dag mogen parkeren, zonder enige vorm van handhaving. Voor bewoners en ondernemers voelt dit wrang: regels worden aangescherpt, parkeerplekken verdwijnen, maar tegelijkertijd lijkt er voor anderen weinig tot geen controle te zijn. Misschien is het tijd dat de gemeente niet alleen regels oplegt, maar deze ook consequent en eerlijk handhaaft. Want zo ontstaat het gevoel dat de ene partij zich aan alles moet houden, terwijl de andere vrij spel heeft.
