Fuji explains black screen to block view was 'only option' for tourist safety FUJIKAWAGUCHIKO, Yamanashi -- The mayor of this town has explained that it had no choice but to erect a black screen blocking a view of Japan's iconic Mount Fuji over a convenience store to protect the safety of locals and the throngs of foreign tourists that came to 😱😱😱 Mayor Watanabe recalled, "We talked about whether other colors were possible, but black was our only option at the time."
