👩💻 HTTP is getting a new method: QUERY 👀
An interesting addition to HTTP in a while.
The purpose is simple: perform read-only requests with a request body.
Instead of squeezing a complex search into a URL, you can express it naturally:
QUERY /users
{
"role": "admin",
"country": "KR",
"skills": ["Node.js", "React"]
}
Or search for products:
QUERY /products
{
"categories": ["laptops", "monitors"],
"price": {
"min": 500,
"max": 1500
},
"inStock": true,
"sort": "rating"
}
The goal is to make complex queries more expressive and read-only.
I don’t expect everyone to adopt it asap, but it’s a new non AI topic to discuss (finally 👍).

| 10 | Pics from today’s DevKorea event 📸
Is it just me, or does the dev community feel a bit less energized compared to 6–12 months ago? Maybe it’s the summer laziness effect 😅
I feel like I’m seeing fewer pet projects, fewer “I’m building a startup” vibes, and just less excitement around creating things.
We need to get back to sacrificing our lives to capitalism 📈😁
Anyway, I’m planning to apply to the Incheon Startup Challenge this summer. Not sure if my startup idea is good enough, but I have to try 🚀

| 12 | Enough of traveling for a while ✈️
My wife and I have collected a stack of boarding passes in 1 year 😅
Multiple trips to Manila, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Phuket, Tashkent, Khiva, and back to Seoul. Business trips, family visits, conferences, meetups, and a lot of new people.
I think we’ve had enough flights for a while. Time to stay in our new home and focus on work 👨💻
Although knowing us, we probably book another trip sooner than expected 😁

It’s been a while since I gave a presentation in Uzbek 😅
Feels good to be back to Korea. Hopefully, next time I’ll have a chance to do it in Russian or at least in English too 👀
Always happy to see fellow engineers and share my experience with the community 🚀

| 17 | It’s been 2 months since I got promoted to a Team Lead position. It’s a completely different experience compared to being a software engineer.
I’m learning a lot about people management, planning, and delivery processes:
kick-offs, grooming, release cycles, retrospectives, sprint reviews, DoD, DoR, DoS, and many more.
Also, I asked my Head of stream to let me keep coding at least a little bit 💻
So I’m still involved in technical tasks too:
Kubernetes deployments, infrastructure setup, migrating legacy code, and other engineering work.
April was probably the hardest month for me professionally because there was a lot of new information to absorb. It’s still a lot, but I think I’m getting used to it.
My previous Team Lead experience in Korea felt way different. I’m not saying Korean IT is bad, it was just less structured and less process-oriented from my experience. Maybe because I only worked in smaller startups.
I’m still on a business trip in the Philippines 🇵🇭
This time feels different too. The company has grown a lot, and now I interact with way more people across different teams than I used to.
