Open position:
- Community, Communications & Content Intern.
You’ll work closely with our graphic designer and booking/event team, helping translate everything happening at GIRI into communication, content and community engagement. | 9 |  Berlin train stations ban alcohol consumption.
Deutsche Bahn is introducing an alcohol ban at around 5,400 train stations across Germany. In Berlin, almost all S-Bahn stations are affected, while drinking alcohol will still be permitted on ICE trains.
The ban will be enforced by Deutsche Bahn security staff and the Federal Police. Anyone caught drinking on a platform despite the ban may be ordered to leave the premises. Repeated violations could result in a ban from the station.
The exact wording of the nationwide station regulations has not yet been finalized. However, at the Berlin pilot stations Zoologischer Garten and Ostbahnhof, stricter rules have already been in force since May 1. There, not only is drinking alcohol prohibited, but carrying open bottles or cans of alcoholic beverages is also forbidden. A Canadian same-sex couple is suing the woman who carried their now 2-year-old son because she refused their demand to abort the fetus because of a minor birth defect and a cleft lip.
According to the suit, filed in Ontario Superior Court and obtained by the National Post, the parents claim the surrogate didn't adequately keep them informed about the baby's health, put the child at risk, violated confidentiality and caused them emotional distress.
