Putin sent a telegram to the heads of state and government of African countries ✉️ Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Africa Day, a holiday that symbolizes the victory of the peoples of your continent over colonialism, their desire for freedom, peace and prosperity. African countries have achieved generally recognized success in the economic and social sphere and are playing an increasingly significant role in addressing current issues on the international agenda. Within the framework of the African Union, as well as a number of subregional structures, constructive interaction is expanding, mechanisms for collective response to local conflicts and crisis situations are being formed, and integration processes are consistently advancing. Russia attaches particular importance to strengthening friendly relations with African partners. We are united by the desire to build a fair multipolar world order, based on true equality and the supremacy of international law, free from any form of discrimination, dictatorship and sanctions pressure. The holding of the second Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg last year undoubtedly created the conditions for building up fruitful, mutually beneficial cooperation in a variety of areas. I am confident that the consistent implementation of the plans and agreements reached as a result of this important multilateral meeting meets our common interests and is in line with ensuring stability and security on the African continent.
