Our main aim is to loose weight & maintaining healthy lifestyle all our life. To burn fat v need to have oxaloacetate (4c ) available for entry into the citric acid cycle (2&3in pic). — OAA comes from glucose ( glycolysis), & in time of fasting can come from proteins also ( insulin absent , so proteolysis can occur , our own dead & decaying cells can be used for energy needs after glycogen stores are over) -our diet should be less in carbs, just enough to supply us these substrates so fats can easily enter the citric acid cycle ,,so these substrates can act as a paddle for fat burning cycle.If sufficient substrate not available — 4 in the pic also gets more prominent leading to cholesterol and ketones formation along with fat . - If carbohydrates are taken more than required ,,pyruvate formed is more . Not enough carboxylase enzyme to convert it to OAA (&also energy needs are less), so all extra gets diverted to 1 which is already there & more pyruvate gets converted into acetyl CoA—-to—-fats (& cholesterol & ketones no 4 in pic)This is one way. ie carbs—-fats . Hence fat accumulates.We can stop this conversion by low carb diet (/more physical activity). —The only way left for fat to meet energy needs is to enter citric acid cycle to give us energy. (deep breathing exercises to properly oxygenate all cells , must for krab cycle, thus aids in fat burning) So keep carbs low by eating more fibre like salads, fruits green vegetables,eat recommended quality proteins, min fats ( preferably with essential fatty acids)———get involved in physical activity at least for one hour—fats should burn according to the physical activity. Other points in HLR— water intake - also required for ketone bodies removal in urine apart from other needs . Vitamin supplements— vitamins needed at steps in metabolism. sleep — body’ s repair & maintenance also done along with other benefits. Deep breathing to properly oxygenate all cells , must for CAC. All should be considered. As RAM sir says eat more fibre and protein and rest of the things automatically fall in place. Complex /interconnected, hormone regulated, multidirectional, dependent on lifestyle and dietary habits. Not everything is under our control, but sincere efforts are.Follow HLR completely not selectively. Thank you Ram Sir for everything you are doing for community of doctors 🙏
