While I am in the mood about Greek mythology - I will repost this :-) I wrote this sometime ago ! This Picture - Nemesis - the Greek Goddess of revenge ! I have mentioned this before - my father owned educational bookshops and a book warehouse. He supplied schools - universities and libraries. From a very early age I was surrounded by books and I particularly liked Greek mythology which fascinated me as a child ! Now that we are living in the ' me me me ' age - due to social media and the ' selfie ' phenomenon - I thought I would share the story of ' Narcissus ' with you :-) This :-) Narcissus was born very handsome and grew into the most handsome young man in all the lands. As a child - Narcissus was told he would lead a long and happy life if he didn't look at his own reflection :-) As a young man - Narcissus wandered through the lands without a care. Many of the ' nymphs ' fell in love with Narcissus and one of those nymphs Narcissus rejected - was so heart broken that she went to a ' lonely ' place and called his name - over and over again ! Her name was ' Echo ' :-) Narcissus continued to walk throughout the lands and one day came across the Goddess of revenge - Nemesis ! Nemesis forced Narcissus to look at his reflection in the pond ! When Narcissus saw how handsome he was - he fell in love with himself :-) Seeing his unbridled vanity - Nemesis then turned Narcissus into a myrrh tree :-)
