One of the most fascinating aspects of Russia right before the October revolution in which the Bolsheviks under Lenin seized power is, in my opinion, the Kornilov-affair. The affair, named after General Lavr Kornilov, took place during the six months reign of Alexander Kerensky’s provisional government, and, surrounded by unclear information as the entire event was chaotic, it paradoxically achieved the exact opposite of what it intended to do: it paved the way for the Bolsheviks to seize power, even though Kornilov’s goal was to purge any Bolshevik elements from Russia’s capital, Petrograd. The content of this video covers events, people or concepts via a lecture-style presentation that is educational and historical in nature. Every video is original content by House of History.
