Repost from Memory of the Art
Brave people in Iran are putting their lives on the line, in order to have a life. A life, free from an Islamic regime. Be their voice. P #مهسا_امینی #Mahsa_Amini

Artist: Conrad Wise Chapman Title: The Flag of Fort Sumter Year: 1864 ~ This piece depicts the Confederate flag flying over the South Carolina fort where the Civil War was begun in 1861. In the background, the Union's blockading ships can be seen. Chapman and his regiment, the 59th Virginia Infantry, along with the rest of General Henry Wise's brigade, went to Charleston in September 1863 to aid in the defense of that city under General P. G. T. Beauregard. He was assigned special duty as artist to illustrate the siege defenses. He received a leave of absence in March 1864 to return to Italy, where he finished the series of oil paintings

Anybody can become angry – that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time
Anybody can become angry – that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way – that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.
