Update – Continued Escalation by Damascus-Affiliated Factions in the Countryside of Hasakah and Kobani Three civilians were injured during a drone strike carried out by Damascus-affiliated factions on the village of Al-Milibiya in the southern countryside of Hasakah. Clashes are also ongoing in the village of Al-Safa, south of chal Agha, where Damascus-affiliated factions advanced earlier today and struck the village with multiple drones, resulting in injuries among civilians. At the same time, these factions continue their heavy shelling of the villages of Kharab Ashk and chalabiya, southeast of Kobani, following a series of attempted incursions, coinciding with intensive reconnaissance flights by Turkish UAVs. The village of Kharab Ashk had previously witnessed a massacre against the Bozan family, which resulted in the deaths of five family members and injuries to five others due to the heavy shelling. It is worth noting that these factions have violated the ceasefire agreement more than 20 times to date, confirming the continuation of their escalation policy and attacks on civilians and residential areas.

🚨URGENT/UPDATE HTS/SNA/ISIS are bombing the French Cement Company in the town of Çelebiyê, which is located in the south-east of Kobane, with howitzers and tanks. There is also air activity related to the Turkish state in the skies over Çelebiyê, Xirab Hişkê and Zêrikê. Statement to the Public Regarding the Field Developments in Kobani Since 2:00 a.m. today, Damascus-affiliated factions have been launching intense attacks from multiple axes against the towns of Kharab Ashk and Chalabiya, located southeast of the city of Kobani, coinciding with heavy artillery shelling that targeted residential neighborhoods and the surroundings of both towns . As a result of these attacks, violent clashes erupted between our forces and the attacking factions. Our forces continue, as of this moment, to repel the assault. Clashes remain ongoing in particular in the town of Chalabiya, amid the aggressor factions’ deployment of additional military reinforcements, including tanks and armored vehicles, alongside intensive overflights by Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles in the airspace of the area. These attacks constitute a clear and explicit violation of the ceasefire agreement and come on only the second day of its implementation, confirming Damascus’ failure to abide by its commitments and its continued policy of military escalation and destabilization of the region. While reaffirming that our forces are exercising their legitimate right to self-defense, we hold Damascus fully responsible for these violations and for the humanitarian and security repercussions resulting from them. We call on the guarantor parties of the ceasefire agreement to assume their responsibilities and to take urgent action to halt these attacks and put an end to the ongoing escalation by Damascus.
