The head of foreign relations for the Autonomous Administration, Ilham Ahmed, emphasized the importance of this integration and proper military restructuring. For her part, the leader of the Women's Protection Units, Rohlat Afrin, confirmed the continuation of negotiations to lift the siege on Kobani, and revealed the nomination of a person to assume a ministerial portfolio in the interim government without taking official steps so far.

Syria - Deirezzor, Al Bukamal For observers wondering why the Islamic State seems to gain more popularity across Syria - it is worthwhile to take a look at what is happening in Syria outside of the narratives pushed by STG media and its supporters. This the central market in Al Bukamal where the residents are fighting each other over the rights to sell their goods at the market. The economic collapse of Syria under the Syrian Government is causing a significant tensions among residents of Syria; here they translated into literal brawls over the rights to sell goods at the market to secure their livelihoods. The Islamic state is exploiting these circumstances; promising the residents a secured livelihood under Islamic laws. An escape from the crisis - when hunger strikes and the crisis unfolds, people will go with the alternatives offered. This isn’t an isolated incident - such brawls have been reported from all major cities and areas across Syria; it’s simply not reported in the media.

The prisoner exchange is a pressing issues in Syria. While all parties remain confident that it will happen, 2 issues are noteworthy: 1. The SDF did not release their prisoners as a „gesture of goodwill“ - instead, the SDF released the prisoners as part of the agreement while the Syrian Government stalls the process of releasing their prisoners which must be viewed as the Syrian Government not being committed to implementing the agreement; a direct violation of the US&French guaranteed agreement. 2. The Syrian Government is stalling the process of releasing the prisoners because A) The prisoners are a token card in their view, which is being used to apply further pressure on the SDF B) Releasing the prisoners will reveal that the Syrian Government has lied to the public, International guarantors and the SDF that the long list of prisoners are alive when they have actually been executed during the clashes. ^this is a real problem for the Syrian Government thus they are trying to stall the process as much as they can so that the issue will slowly move out of the focus of the public; basically in hopes that the public will be satisfied with the release of the prisoners and that thereby the significant portion of the dead-prisoners will not become a lasting issue between the Syrian Government and the SDF (+Guarantors USA/France).

The commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, told PBS: The Kurds want autonomy, but they have currently accepted expanded local administration because this is the limit the central government is willing to accept. They are not seeking independence at this stage, but rather self-governance for their regions and the preservation of their identity and civil and educational rights. The late January agreement with Damascus is the best possible under the current circumstances, even if it is not the ideal deal for the Kurds. It was accepted to solidify the ceasefire, achieve stability, and move towards resolving differences through dialogue instead of fighting.
